Students, Campus Getting Ready to Celebrate Family Weekend

Parents and families will converge on the Bluff for Duquesne’s annual Family Weekend, scheduled for Friday, Oct. 14, through Sunday, Oct. 16.

Sponsored by the Office of Freshman Development and Special Student Services, Family Weekend features a variety of activities for students and visiting families.

Some of the weekend’s highlights include:

Friday, Oct. 14

  • The 66th annual Carnival: Greeks Go Geek, hosted by the Office of Greek Life, 6 to 11 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.), Union Ballroom, $5 admission
  • Family Jam, 7 p.m., The Red Ring

Saturday, Oct. 15

  • Academic Open House Tours, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., various schools
  • Tailgate Lunch, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the Hogan Dining Center
  • Living Learning Center Tours, 1 to 2:40 p.m., various locations
  • Tailgate Dinner, 6 p.m., under the tent, $10 admission, free for Duquesne students
  • Duquesne football vs. Robert Morris, 7 p.m., Rooney Field

Sunday, Oct. 16

  • Mass, 9 a.m., Power Center Ballroom
  • Farewell Brunch, hosted by President Ken Gormley, 10 a.m., Union Ballroom
  • Women’s soccer vs. St. Joseph, 1 p.m., Rooney Field
  • Women’s volleyball vs. Rhode Island, 1 p.m., Palumbo Center.
