Duquesne to Host iDebate Rwanda for Public Debate on Forgiveness

The University will host a group of young adults from Rwanda as part of the 2016 iDebate U.S. Tour, which will feature a public debate between Duquesne’s Debating Society and iDebate Rwanda today, Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Union’s Africa Room.

Universal and cultural perceptions of forgiveness will be the focus of the debate. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear how debate has impacted a generation of youth in Rwanda.

The iDebate U.S. Tour provides Rwandan students the opportunity to speak on living in a post-genocide world and how debate has helped change their lives. The Rwandan debaters will also speak at various University classes during their visit to Pittsburgh.

This intercultural event will include a buffet dinner and is a part of the second annual Fr. Sean M. Hogan, C.S.Sp. International Debate Series.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sarah Flinko at 814.215.1014 or flinkos@duq.edu.
