Call for Applications: The Loogman Grant
The Center for African Studies is accepting applications for the Rev. Alphons Loogman, C.S.Sp., Faculty Research grant. Two grants of $6,000 each will be awarded this year and may be used to support a portion of a multi-phase research project.
The grant—named for a former Duquesne Swahili professor and co-founder of the African Studies program—is a campus-wide internal funding opportunity intended to support scholarly research and creative endeavors that reflect the University’s strategic commitment to a closer relationship with the nations and peoples of Africa.
The grant competition is open to all full-time Duquesne faculty members working in any academic discipline.
The Loogman grant application deadlines include:
- Preliminary proposals (optional): Friday, Feb. 10
- Applications: On or before Friday, March 17
- Award announcements: Friday, April 14
- Progress report: Friday, Dec. 8
- Project outcomes report: Friday, Aug. 31, 2018.
