19th Annual Entrepreneurial Conference Slated For This Week

More than 400 small business managers and owners will gather for breakout sessions, keynote addresses and a tradeshow at the annual Entrepreneur’s Growth & Networking Conference, hosted by Duquesne’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

The 19th annual conference will focus on funding and keeping customers, growing revenues, motivation and business planning at the daylong event this Friday, June 2, in the Union Ballroom.

Jim Rooney, founder and owner of FirstLink Research and Analytics and a member of the Steelers founding family, will deliver the luncheon keynote. Mike Silverman of Cohen & Grigsby will open the conference with a 9 a.m. breakfast keynote address.

Local business experts and successful entrepreneurs will cover a range of topics useful to businesses right now, such as becoming a breakout brand, the importance of greening a business and social media marketing. Nearly a dozen different breakout sessions will be offered.

“There are a lot of new trends in the entrepreneurial world right now, and this conference can help attendees to strategically plan and look at their business as a whole,” said Christine Hughes, training manager and business consultant for Duquesne’s SBDC.
