Nursing, Business and Health Sciences Schools Celebrate Summer Graduates

The School of Nursing Second Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and MBA Sustainable Business Practices programs both celebrated their respective graduates on Aug. 4.

Approximately 175 students graduated from the Second Degree BSN program during the ceremony in the Union ballroom. Holly Lorenz, chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at UPMC, was the diploma ceremony speaker.

Kristopher Crown, owner and founder of analytics and insights company Crownalytics, LLC, and 2010 Duquesne MBA Sustainability graduate, returned to Duquesne be the featured speaker during the business school’s diploma ceremony for its 14 graduates.

The Rangos School of Health Sciences held its summer graduation ceremony on Aug. 11 at the A.J. Palumbo Center. Approximately 134 graduates in disciplines such as speech-language pathology, physical therapy and physician’s assistant studies received diplomas. Dr. Fevzi Akinci, new dean of the health sciences school, gave the address.
