Integrity of Creation Conference to Examine the Global Water Crisis

Faculty and staff are invited to register for the third annual Presidential Conference on the Integrity of Creation, which will focus on the theme The Global Water Crisis.

This year’s conference will foster civil discourse from a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives including science, law and policy, and ethics and religion. Plenary presenter and Bishop D. Mário Clemente Neto, C.S.Sp., will discuss his work related to the global water crisis, including his ministry with indigenous and riverside peoples in the Brazilian Amazonian Region.

“Our planet is under catastrophic threat,” said Dr. Gerard Magill, the Gallagher Chair for the Integration of Science, Theology, Philosophy and Law, who is chair of the conference committee. “If we don’t do anything about this global crisis, we will be in dire straits.”

The goals of the conference include increasing awareness among the local community, and providing an opportunity for conference participants to engage in academic emerging science and research.

The Integrity of Creation Conference is free and open to the public. It will be held in the Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom on Wednesday, Sept. 27, and Thursday, Sept. 28.
