Register to Hear Experts Discuss Water Crisis at Integrity of Creation Conference

Duquesne faculty and staff are reminded to register for the third annual Presidential Conference on the Integrity of Creation, during which scholars and experts will focus on the theme The Global Water Crisis.

Plenary presentations from a variety of interdisciplinary perspectives such as science, law and policy, and ethics and religion will be featured during the conference, which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, and Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom.

Experts and their specific topics include:

• Dr. Nancy G. Love, the Borchardt and Glysson Collegiate Professor at the University of Michigan Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering—Water Infrastructure in Shrinking and Expanding Cities: The Impact on Water Quality and Public Health
• Robert Glennon, the Regents’ Professor and the Morris K. Udall Professor of Law and Public Policy at the University of Arizona’s Rogers College of Law—Moral Stewardship of Our Most Precious Resource: Water
• Dr. Hussein A. Amery, director of the Division of Humanities, Arts and Sciences at the Colorado School of Mines—The Water, Food and Energy Nexus in the Middle East: A Focus on Saudi Arabia
• Bishop Mario Clemente Neto, C.S.Sp., who has lived in the Brazilian Amazonian region for nearly 40 years—Living the Preservation of Nature in the Amazon
• Dr. Rachel Hart Winter, director of the Siena Center at Dominican University, River Forest, Ill.—Our Parched Earth: A Catholic Ecofeminist Response to the Global Water Crisis
• Dr. Richard Piacentini, executive director of Pittsburgh’s Phipps Conservatory—Exploring Sustainable Water Conservation Strategies in a Living Building.
