Grants Received

Funds totaling $355,000 were recently received by the School of Education and the Biomedical Engineering Program.

  • Dr. Temple Lovelace, associate professor of special education, School of Education, $325,000, from the Heinz Endowments, for an educational incubation and design space that supports school-based projects rooted in STEAM disciplines, and a youth and teacher leadership program that highlights community-school partnerships for educational transformation.
  • Drs. Justin Page and Morgan Chitiyo, School of Education, $10,000, from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23, to support the development of strategies for embedding the principles, materials and tools utilizing Project MAX resources into coursework for teachers.
  • Dr. John Viator, director of the Biomedical Engineering Program, $20,000, from PhotoPhage Systems LLC, to support the design and testing of the Sponsors technology.
