Region’s Largest, Longest-Running Entrepreneurship Event Marks 20th Year

More than 400 small business managers and owners are expected to attend the 20th annual Entrepreneur’s Growth and Networking Conference, the largest and longest-running entrepreneurship event in the Pittsburgh region.

Entrepreneurs Growth Conference

Hosted by the Small Business Development Center, the conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, in the Union Ballroom. It will feature a dozen expert-led workshops, a business-building tradeshow and more than 30 speakers from companies and organizations including The Progress Fund, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Leadership Pittsburgh, among others.

David Radin of Dale Carnegie Training will present the interactive session Forward Progress: Leveraging Leadership, Focus & Process to Surpass Goals and Find Success at 9 a.m. Luncheon keynote speaker Michael DelGrosso, vice president of global sales and marketing for DelGrosso Foods, will discuss the success of his family’s business as the United States’ oldest major family-owned manufacturer of pasta sauces.

“While this annual conference has evolved over the years, we continue to bring in the movers and shakers of the entrepreneurship movement in Pittsburgh,” explained SBDC Director Dr. Mary McKinney. “Attendees have the opportunity to talk to several successful business owners, who share stories about their accomplishments and challenges that they’ve faced along the way. Networking has also been incorporated into the conference; and breakout sessions this year focus on the continuing technology revolution, resources for business to find financial support and much more.”

In addition to learning about starting and growing a business, attendees will learn how to maximize profits and minimize expenses, turn market opportunities into sales and tackle business challenges. Conference breakout sessions address new venture, growth and technology businesses, and are split under the specific topics of marketing, management and growth, technology, money and business starts.

Registration is $139 for the full day, $79 for the afternoon sessions and $159 for walk-ins. For more information and conference details, visit www.duq.edu/growth or call the Small Business Development Center at 412.396.1633.
