‘Ethics and Eats’ Session Examines the Adjudication of Defendants with Mental Illness

Ethical challenges regarding the adjudication of defendants with mental illness is the focus of the next installment of the Ethics and Eats series at Duquesne.

Hosted by the Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law, Ethical Challenges in the Adjudication of Defendants with Mental Illness will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the Africa Room of the Union.

The program will explore the justice system’s treatment of defendants with mental illness and the preservation of their rights and dignity. Speakers include expert psychiatrists, ethicists, public defenders and social service providers.

The Ethics and Eats seminars are offered both on site and online. This program is approved for two hours of ethics continuing legal education credit and two hours of social work continuing education credit.
