Documentary on Duquesne Basketball Star Jim Tucker Will Premiere on Campus

The University community will have the chance to watch a sneak preview of a new WQED-TV documentary honoring the life and career of former NBA player and Duquesne University basketball star Jim Tucker.

Let ‘Em Know You’re There—which touches on sports and race, as well as Tucker’s current battle with Alzheimer’s disease—will be screened on campus Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Pappert Lecture Hall of the Bayer Learning Center. The documentary will be broadcast on WQED-TV on Thursday, Sept. 13.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  • Field Humphrey, director of the documentary
  • Chuck Cooper III, president and chief executive officer of the Chuck Cooper Foundation and son of the late Duquesne and NBA player Chuck Cooper
  • A local mental health professional who specializes in Alzheimer’s treatment.
