Funds totaling $150,347 were recently received by the School of Pharmacy, the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (BSNES), and the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts.
- David Lapinsky, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences, School of Pharmacy, $92,170, to support drug target identification for the treatment of essential tremor.
- David Lampe, professor of biological sciences, BSNES, a $6,838.50 Hunkele Dreaded Disease Research Award, for Genetically Stable Strains of Asaia Bogorensis for Paratransgenesis Against Malaria.
- Michael Cascio, associate professor of chemistry and biochemistry, BSNES, a $6,838.50 Hunkele Dreaded Disease Research Award, for Crosslinking-Mass Spectrometry Studies of the External Loops of the Serotonin Transporter.
- McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, $44,500, from the Phillip H. and Betty L. Wimmer Family Foundation, to be used for the Faculty Enrichment Program. Dr. James Swindal, dean of the College, will administer the award.
