CUPA-HR Selects Duquesne for 2019 Eastern Region HR Excellence Award

The College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) Eastern Region board of directors has selected Duquesne’s Minority Professional Development Leadership Program to receive the 2019 Eastern Region HR Excellence Award.

CUPA logoThe award honors transformative human resources work in higher education, recognizing individuals or teams who have provided human resources leadership resulting in significant and ongoing organizational change within their institutions.

“We’re honored to receive this prestigious award and grateful for the opportunity to showcase Duquesne University’s efforts to build a diverse and inclusive workforce,” said Ryan Dawson, senior director and deputy Title IX coordinator for the Office of Human Resources.

In addition, Duquesne’s Minority Professional Development Leadership Program will be submitted to the CUPA-HR national awards committee for consideration for the national HR Excellence Award.

“We’re especially thankful to Marla Bradford, senior recruiter diversity leader in the Office of Human Resources, for nominating the Minority Professional Development Leadership Program and her continued efforts to enhance the program,” Dawson said.

Duquesne and other Eastern Region awards recipients will be honored at the CUPA-HR Spring Conference, which will be held from Thursday, March 28, to Saturday, March 30 in Washington, D.C.
