Spring Class of 2019 to Graduate This Friday

More than 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students will be honored this Friday, May 10, at two 2019 spring commencement ceremonies.

The graduate commencement ceremony will be held at noon in PPG Paints Arena followed by the undergraduate ceremony at 3 p.m. President Ken Gormley will confer the degrees and give remarks.

At the undergraduate ceremony, Gormley will present an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters to both Maxwell King, president and chief executive officer of the Pittsburgh Foundation, and Joanne Byrd Rogers, wife of the late Fred Rogers.

King—who is author of The New York Times best-seller The Good Neighbor, a biography about the life and work of Fred Rogers—will deliver the commencement address; and Rogers will give remarks.

Both ceremonies and the 9 a.m. baccalaureate Mass, which will be held in the fourth-floor Union ballroom, will be broadcast live via webcast. Links will be available at www.duq.edu/commencement.
