Spiritan Pedagogy Lunches to Focus on Reimagining Excellence

This year’s Spiritan Pedagogy lunch series, co-hosted by the Center for Catholic Faith and Culture (CCFC) and the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), will explore how Duquesne’s Spiritan mission calls for a more holistic understanding of academic excellence.

Spiritans logoFaculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend the first lunch on Wednesday, Sept. 11, from noon to 1:30 pm in room 613 of the Union.

“This year’s Spiritan Pedagogy conversations are an opportunity to reimagine academic excellence in holistic ways that move beyond our usual academic standards,” Dr. Steven Hansen, CTE director of faculty development and teaching excellence, said. “We will explore the relationships that we privilege, the commitments we make to our ongoing professional growth and our curricular choices to foster solidarity with the underserved. Along the way, we’ll explore both the practices and philosophical underpinnings of a Spiritan commitment to academic excellence.”

RSVP online to attend the luncheon. Visit the CCFC website for more information on this year’s series.
