14th Annual ODI Turkey Drive Begins, Will Benefit Families in Need

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) will host the 14th annual Turkey Drive, which provides turkey dinners for local families in need.

The ODI is accepting monetary donations in any amount through Friday, Nov. 15. A $30 donation to the drive  can provide a turkey dinner for a family of four. Donations can be dropped off at the ODI office in Room 106 of the Union. University departments also can make donations via an account transfer.

To date, the ODI Turkey Drive has provided more than 2,600 turkey dinners to local families.

“It confirms how fortunate we are as a University community to truly come together and help others during this special time of the year,” Jeff Mallory, assistant vice president for Diversity, Inclusion and Student Advancement, said.

Faculty and staff are invited to help assemble the turkey dinner packages Nov. 15, from 4 to 5 p.m., in the Public Safety Building as well as deliver them Saturday, Nov. 16, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

“It remains critical that we engage our University community to participate in this drive. It speaks directly to the health of our community, especially in terms of serving others,” Mallory said. “We remain grateful for the support we receive for this drive and are humbled to serve others.”
