Kelley, a nursing professor and director of the University’s Veterans to Bachelor in Nursing Program, is being honored for her work in helping train nurses to provide culturally congruent care to military service members and their families, while also encouraging veterans and members of the military to enter the nursing profession.

“The most rewarding part of what I do today is working with novice nurses and nurse scientists who will continue to advance the field of education, health care and research for veterans and military members, who wear or have worn the cloth of the nation,” she said.

Kelley was featured in November’s Pittsburgh Magazine and will be honored at a reception Dec. 4.
