Reminder: CTE Calls for Creative Teaching Awards Submissions

Duquesne’s Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) recognizes the importance of excellence in teaching and learning through the Creative Teaching Awards, which recognize faculty who have implemented innovative teaching methods and assessed their impact on student learning.

Winning projects will receive $1,000 at the annual spring Celebration of Teaching Excellence on Thursday, April 16, 2020. Winners will present a poster at the spring event and participate in an award winners’ panel the next fall.

In addition to receiving public recognition and a strong endorsement of their teaching at Duquesne, many award winners have presented papers at national conferences and published peer-reviewed articles featuring their innovation.

Full-time and part-time faculty who have taught at least one year at Duquesne are eligible. Faculty are invited to submit collaborative and multi-course projects. Submissions also may address faculty-led student-learning initiatives that are not tied to a specific course.

The deadline for submissions is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14. Submission guidelines, the application cover sheet and samples from previous winning projects are available here.
