Events Scheduled to Raise Awareness About Preventing Sexual Violence

Several student organizations and departments are collaborating to host events throughout March and April as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).

Thursday, March 12

The Clothesline Project, 7 p.m., Room 119, Union: Featuring t-shirt art to support survivors and victims of sexual violence and assault through expression of thoughts and feelings about victimization as an observer, a bystander or someone who has been affected.

Friday, March 13

SAAM Pop-up Outreach, during dinner service, Hogan Dining Hall, Towers: Join the Students Against Sexual Violence organization and the Office of the Title IX Coordinator for treats and resources during this empowerment-focused outreach event.

In addition, a clothing drive and a Just the Facts Campaign will be held during March and April. Dining halls on campus will display table tents featuring resources and statistics about Sexual Assault Awareness Month as part of the campaign. The campus community can donate new “comfort” clothing items (i.e. sweatpants) for victims of sexual assault. Contact Sherene Brantley at lemoniass@duq.edu for more information.
