Funds totaling $443,000 were recently received by the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, School of Nursing, Rangos School of Health Sciences and the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (BSNES).

  • Rick McCown, School of Education, and Norm Conti, Liberal Arts, $10,000, from a Provost’s Bridge Grant, for helping formerly incarcerated citizens return to their communities.
  • Rick McCown, School of Education, and Norm Conti, Liberal Arts, $5,000, from a John G. Rangos, Sr. Prize, for Community-Based Research & Development: A Cross-Sector, Inter-disciplinary and Inter-Generational Program.
  • Lanei Rodemeyer, Liberal Arts, $2,000, from an internal Faculty Course Development Grant, for the development of a course titled Institutional Narratives of (Trans)gender.
  • Cathleen Appelt and Andrew Simpson, Liberal Arts, and Dr. Jessica Devido, School of Nursing, $2,000, from a John G. Rangos, Sr. Prize, for Health Inequalities, Professional Preparation, and the Pittsburgh Region: A Multidisciplinary, Community-Engaged Course to prepare Generation Z for the Future.
  • Regina Harbourne and Richard Simpson, Rangos, and Dr. Patrick Cooper, BSNES, $5,000, from a John G. Rangos, Sr. Prize, for A Mobile Clinic and Makerspace.
  • Nicole Lucente, a student in the Physical Therapy program, and Delaney Batik, a student in the Occupational Therapy program, $5,000, from a John G. Rangos, Sr. Prize, for Collaborative Innovation Workshop. Dr. Regina Harbourne will administer the funds.
  • Wook Kim, BSNES, $414,000, from the National Institutes of Health, for Molecular Bias of Bacterial Spatial Structure Formation by Post-Transactional Regulator.
