Virtual Research Symposium Winners Announced

The COVID-19 pandemic didn’t prevent the University’s talented research students from participating in the Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Virtual Competition, the alternative version of the annual Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Symposium (URSS) hosted by the Office of Student Research.

More than 90 projects were submitted, with many students taking home monetary prizes. The competition provides a creative opportunity for students to share their research’s importance to a general audience, an essential career skill.

Undergraduates were encouraged to submit a video up to three minutes long on their research or scholarship project. Students also could submit a research paper no longer than five pages or a virtual poster for the competition.

Students from six different schools participated in the competition, highlighting the University’s interdisciplinary research approach.
