Thanks to funding from the McGinley Public Service Fellow Program and the Public Interest Law Association, the students are using their legal training to assist public defenders’ and district attorneys’ offices throughout the region. They are also serving judges and state and federal agencies including the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Federal Aviation Commission and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

“We are so proud of these students who are living the Duquesne Law motto ‘the welfare of the people is the highest law,’” said Ella Kwisnek, associate dean for students at the law school. “These opportunities offer students a chance to work with the region’s legal community and enhance their expertise, while also benefiting the public at large.”
