Speech-Language-Pathology Program’s Perfect Streak Continues

For the 13th consecutive year, all students in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) master’s program have passed the national Praxis exam, which measures student knowledge of general and subject-specific content needed for teaching or professional practice.

Speech-Language Students in class“It was great to see that all 26 students in our 2020 class passed the Praxis exam,” said Dr. Mikael Kimelman, chair of the SLP department. “This exam is required for national certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Pennsylvania state licensure, Pennsylvania’s education certification to work in public schools, and by many other states.”

The SLP master’s program has enjoyed consistent success with the Praxis exam throughout the years. Out of the 21 cohorts who have graduated from the program, 15 had a 100% pass rate, and only two cohorts scored lower than 90%.
