Office of Diversity and Inclusion Creates Resilience in Motion Program
Launched as a support initiative and certificate program for Duquesne students of color, Resilience in Motion (RIM) promotes empowerment and resiliency with a goal of impacting participants’ lives socially, academically and professionally.
The program, which consists of five virtual events, began Sept. 9 with an opening ceremony. Throughout the program, participants will contribute to conversations and listen to presentations from campus departments and organizations that highlight leadership, preserving one’s identity, and mental health and wellbeing. RIM ends with a closing ceremony and certificate presentation on Nov. 11.
“Given the climate of the world in which we are living, the Resilience in Motion program will help students become more self-aware of how these issues are affecting them and what culturally relevant resources exist at the University to support them,” Dr. Anthony Kane, director of diversity and inclusion, said.
