Virtual Lectures Highlight National Forensic Science Week

The Bayer School’s Forensic Science and Law program encourages faculty and staff to attend virtual lectures to mark National Forensic Science Week (Sept. 21-25). The following lectures will be livestreamed via Zoom from the Forensic Science and Law website:

  • Dr. Itiel Dror, principal consultant and researcher in cognitive neuroscience, will present How Bias Impacts All of Us, Even Expert Forensic Decision Making Monday, Sept. 21, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Bruce Goldfarb, executive assistant and public information officer for the Maryland chief medical examiner and curator of the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death, will present Investigating Frances Glessner Lee Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Recordings of the lectures also will be available.

In addition, The Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law will end National Forensic Science Week with a Forensic Fridays seminar. Pennsylvania Secretary of Corrections John Wetzel and other legal and prison system experts will speak on Corrections in the Time of Coronavirus Balancing Public Health and Safety in the Prison Pandemic Response Friday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. The Pennsylvania CLE Board has approved this course for four hours of substantive CLE credit. Registration for this event is requested.
