Forensic Fridays Explores the Ethics of Pandemic Response

As the past 10 months have demonstrated, responding to a pandemic is a complex matter. Every policy decision, from distributing tests and allocating vaccines to the duties of health care workers, must be made with questions not only of efficacy, but also of ethics in mind.

Forensic FridaysEquity, Ethics and Epidemiology: Lessons from the Pandemic Response will explore these issues at the next Forensic Fridays virtual seminar on Friday, Feb. 5. The event is hosted by the Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law in partnership with the University’s Rangos School of Health Sciences and Office of the Provost.

Dr. Jacob Appel, bioethicist, author, physician, lawyer and social critic, will headline the event, together with epidemiologist and Duquesne Provost Dr. David Dausey and chair of Health Administration and Public Health Dr. Faina Linkov.

Attendees need to register for the event. The Pennsylvania CLE Board has approved this course for two hours of substantive and one hour of ethics CLE credit.
