New COVID-19 Dashboard Unveiled

Following best-in-class practices, a team of faculty and staff designed the University’s newly launched COVID-19 Dashboard and a process for maintaining it to promote health and safety, aid in decision-making and provide transparency.

Campus health and safety information is shown at the top in a Microsoft Power BI dashboard. The landing page offers an overview with moving average case data and weekly testing data. Behind the overview, and accessible by clicking on the tabs or “learn more about” buttons, are detailed sections that show cases, spaces and tests over time. This information is updated Monday through Friday by the dashboard team. Vaccination detail includes pointers to local vaccination resources. Data sources and definitions are also provided.

Allegheny County health and safety information is illustrated at the bottom in a table dashboard. The landing page displays boxes that, when clicked, provide details on testing, cases and data, and definitions. The Allegheny County Health Department maintains this dashboard, which is updated daily.

To view any dashboard sections in full screen, click on the double-headed arrow at the right bottom corner of the Microsoft Power BI campus display or on the “full-screen button” at the bottom right corner of the county table display.

The Duquesne COVID dashboard team comprises faculty and staff, including:

  • Andrea Berestecky, employee relations specialist
  • Daniel Cangilla, associate director of housing operations
