Mann Named Editor of ‘Tropman Report,’ Encourages Submissions

Newly appointed Tropman Report Editor-In-Chief Dr. Jessica Mann is encouraging the University community to showcase their efforts to build a better community through their work by submitting a proposal for the 2021 publication.

Photo of Fobes AveCollected and organized by The Forbes Funds, the Tropman Report seeks proposals for scholarly research projects that consider responses for the myriad challenges facing western Pennsylvania’s nonprofit sector.

“I am honored to serve as the editor of the Tropman Report during its revival phase. During this time of uncertainty in our region, it is crucial that the nonprofit sector has space to share innovative ideas and gain access to relevant data,” said Mann, assistant vice president of community engagement. “I am looking forward to working with the editorial board to offer high-quality and timely research that will advance the work of the sector and enhance our city, and I am excited about the opportunity to involve the Duquesne community.”

Tropman Report research proposals should focus on topics with potential for improving the ways in which nonprofit leaders address current challenges, ranging from, but not limited to:

  • Managing pressures generated by increasingly complex stakeholder relationships
  • Internal conflict management
  • Changing and risky financial environments
  • Over-reliance on foundation funding
  • Challenges to achieving accessibility, equity and inclusion.

All proposals must be emailed to tropmanreport@gmail.com by midnight Wednesday, June 30. Additional proposal guidelines can be viewed online via Google Docs.
