Reminder: Vaccination Status Must be Filed

The start of the new academic year is nearly upon us and the entire community is looking forward to a more normal campus experience. The key to our campus community returning to normalcy is having the vast majority of people on campus vaccinated against COVID-19.

County Executive Rich Fitzgerald announced Aug. 5 that the Allegheny County Health Department is asking all businesses in the region, including institutions of higher education, to confirm vaccination status for their constituents. These protective measures help in our efforts to continue working toward normal operations at Duquesne.

Therefore, If you have not already done so, please get vaccinated as soon as possible, to protect yourself, your loved ones and the other members of our community.

Moreover, faculty, staff and students must upload proof of vaccination:

If you have been granted medical, religious or philosophical exemption, you still must ensure your status is registered appropriately.

If you do not file your vaccination card or a record of your exemption, it will be assumed that you are unvaccinated. All unvaccinated employees will be required to wear a mask while on campus and participate in weekly Covid-19 testing to ensure the safety of the entire campus community.

The University continues to monitor CDC and Allegheny County Health Department guidance as we take preventive and safety measures to protect all in the Duquesne community.

Thank you in advance for doing your part to help and for your continued contributions to the work to put the pandemic behind us.
