Food trucks will return to campus this fall but with a new twist: they will be held every Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Academic Walk beginning Friday, Sept. 10.

Food trucks on campusCo-sponsored by the Department of Auxiliary Services and the Center for Student Involvement, Food Truck Friday events often will coincide fall events.

“The Center for Student Involvement is excited to partner with Auxiliary Services on this new initiative,” Adam Wasilko, assistant vice president for student involvement and dean of students, said. “Our students love these events, and they really bring the community together. Our students consistently ask to have more events like this, so we are thrilled to be able to host this weekly.”

Favorites like Nakama, Sinkers and Suds, and Bado’s Pizza are among the variety of vendors that will participate this fall.

“We are planning to have two to four trucks on campus each Friday,” Scott Richards, assistant vice president for auxiliary services, said. “Many trucks are just starting to reopen due to COVID-19, so we’re continuing to look into partnerships with other vendors to make these events fresh and exciting. We also hope to continue the program next spring dependent upon weather.”

Faculty and staff are invited to take advantage of the 11 a.m. start time to avoid the noon lunch rush across campus.

Hosting local food trucks is yet another way the University offers opportunities for connection and impact with neighboring communities.
