Join the 20th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K and Dog Walk

Faculty and community members are invited to join the School of Law community, running enthusiasts, dog walkers, friends and families for the 20th annual Katie Westbrook 5K Race and Dog Walk held Saturday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. on campus.

The race/walk honors the life of Katie Westbrook, whose dream at age 13 was to become a lawyer. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer and passed away at age 15, just a few hours before she was to receive an honorary degree from the School of Law.

Twenty years later, the law school continues to honor Katie’s life and her dream. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Public Interest Law Association Scholarship Fund.

Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win Steeler game tickets.

This year’s race will be held both in-person and virtually. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The dog walk will begin after the runners start the race. More information about registration, prizes and sponsorships is available on the event website.

Those interested in becoming a race sponsor or donating a race day prize item are asked to email Beth Bauer.
