Pharmacy School Hosting Health and Wellness Fair at Market Square

In honor of October being American Pharmacists Month, nearly 80 faculty and student pharmacists from the Mylan School of Pharmacy will conduct a Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Pittsburgh’s Market Square.

The Health and Wellness Fair will feature 15 different health-related stations and activities including:

  • Flu shots for $25
  • Free blood pressure screenings and cardiac and diabetic risk assessments
  • Smoking cessation information
  • Light cardio workout
  • Zumba session.

In addition, the Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh will be on site conducting complimentary adult vision screenings.

“The School of Pharmacy aims to promote wellness in an effort to improve health outcomes,” said Dr. Suzanne Higginbotham, director of Duquesne’s Center for Pharmacy Care. “This Health and Wellness Fair in Market Square—in celebration of American Pharmacists Month—is just one way that we can reach out to the public through education, advocacy, screenings and immunizations to achieve better health status for our participants.”

The Health and Wellness Fair at Market Square is free and open to the public.
