Committee to Lead Campus Climate Study

The Rev. James McCloskey, C.S.Sp., vice president for Mission and Identity, formed a Campus Climate Assessment Committee, which held its first meeting recently. The committee plans to conduct a formal assessment of the University’s current climate in matters of diversity and inclusion.

This study was recommended to President Dougherty by his advisory council on diversity. Dougherty met with the council earlier this semester and expressed his support for the assessment.

“We are in the preliminary stages of this study,” McCloskey said. “We held our first meeting to discuss scope, timeline and methodology. We are currently looking into what other schools have done and will keep the campus community informed as we progress in our work.”
