Commencement, Diploma Ceremonies Slated This Weekend

On Friday, families and friends will be on campus for Duquesne’s Spring 2010 commencement ceremony. Starting at 5 p.m. in the A.J. Palumbo Center, President Charles Dougherty will officially confer all degrees upon 1,486 students.

The commencement ceremonies will also be Webcast live and stored online for later viewing. There will also be a Webcast of the Baccalaureate Mass at the Palumbo Center that will precede this ceremony at 3 p.m.

Sister Margaret Carney, president of St. Bonaventure University, will receive an Honorary Doctor of Letters and will deliver the commencement address.  Diploma ceremonies on Saturday, May 8, will personally honor each student with the traditional distribution of diploma jackets.

The School of Pharmacy will hold its 2010 commencement at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22. Commencement for the School of Law will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 6.
