The Ethics of Medically Assisted Nutrition and Hydration, the first in the David Kelly Bioethics Lecture Series, will be held at the Power Center Ballroom from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. He will address the topic through the lens of a health professional’s ethical responsibility in providing sustenance to patients unable to nourish themselves due to medical conditions.

“The purpose of the series is to enhance our scholarly reputation as an interdisciplinary research center in the field, to inspire the doctoral research of our students and provide leadership on the crucial issues in health care ethics today,” said Dr. Gerard Magill, the Vernon F. Gallagher Chair.

The David Kelly Bioethics Lecture Series will feature nationally and internationally prominent scholars speaking at Duquesne University each fall and spring semester about current and emerging topics in the field.
