Music Students Win the U.S. International Duo Piano Competition

Mary Pappert School of Music students Yuting Zhou and Anna Kovalevska won first place at the 15th annual United States International Duo Piano Competition, held Jan. 4 to 6 in Colorado Springs.

The competition features participants from the United States, Russia, Taiwan, Korea, China, India and Canada in 11 different categories. Duo concert pianists submit performance videos that are reviewed by a three-judge panel of renowned music professors in order to qualify for the prestigious competition.

Zhou and Kovalevska placed first in the professional level at the competition.
