Music School Hosts Sold-Out Performance of ‘The Music of the Beatles’

The Mary Pappert School of Music hosted a sold-out crowd for The Music of the Beatles, a March 14 concert featuring the Duquesne Jazz Ensemble and several guest faculty performers.

Chair of jazz studies Mike Tomaro, who is director of the jazz ensemble, coordinated The Music of the Beatles, arranged the music for the performance and also created an accompanying slide show that featured Beatles-related photos and images.

In addition to the student members of the Duquesne Jazz Ensemble, faculty performers at The Music of the Beatles included Adjunct Professor of Voice Maureen Budway; Adjunct Professor of Guitar Ken Karsh; Professor and Chair of Guitar Bill Purse; Assistant Chair of Guitar Mark Koch; School of Music Dean and Professor Dr. Edward Kocher.
