New DU Alert Emergency Notification System Being Tested Tomorrow

The University will test the DU Alert emergency message system featuring new vendor e2Campus tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 16.

The new system will alert all contact numbers simultaneously. Each number will be contacted only once and subscribers will not have to confirm receipt of the message.

Utilized by more than 800 college campuses across the nation, e2Campus is an award-winning emergency notification system that enables time-sensitive messages to be sent concurrently to subscribers via voice and text messages to mobile phones or landline phones.

A DU Alert is activated during situations such as:

  • a life-threatening emergency
  • imminent danger or disaster, including a major fire, shooting, earthquake or flood
  • severe weather, including tornado warnings
  • major interruptions in campus operations, such as inclement weather delays and cancellations.

Employees who haven’t yet subscribed to the DU Alert system can visit www.duq.edu/dualert.
