Show Your ‘Love 4 DU’ During the First-Ever Month of Giving

February is the Month of Giving at Duquesne. The Love 4 DU campaign is one of several new initiatives developed by the annual giving team to renew interest and participation in giving to the Annual Fund.

The campaign encourages three main groups—alumni and friends, faculty and staff, and members of the Class of 2015—to make a gift of any size to the Annual Fund.

“The Month of Giving is an opportunity for us to reinvigorate faculty and staff giving and provides an opportunity for us to come together and celebrate what we love about Duquesne,” said Cheryl Karashin, director of annual giving, who is a two-time graduate of the University. “In doing so, we give back to the University, which for so many of us is much more than simply a place where we work—it’s where we attended school or where our children attend school, where many of us worship on Sundays or perhaps where we met our best friend or spouse.”

The goal of the Month of Giving is to raise 136 gifts (in honor of Duquesne University’s 136th year) in any amount during each week in February. If the goal of raising 544 gifts by Feb. 28 is met, an alumnus and member of Duquesne’s Board of Directors will make a gift of $13,600.

Faculty and staff can make a one-time gift or may choose to give via payroll deduction at www.duq.edu/love4DU.

Learn more about the new initiatives by visiting www.duq.edu/love4DU and watching a fun informative video on each campaign.

During February, the annual giving office is also asking employees to share their love by using the tag #love4DU in their social media posts about the University. Whether the post is about making a gift, a favorite memory or an old (or new) DU photo, the tag will help promote the campaign throughout February.
