New Workshop Educates Faculty on Advancing Their Scholarly Profiles

Gumberg Library is teaming up with the Center for Teaching Excellence to host Raising Your Scholarly Profile, a new interactive workshop that teaches faculty and graduate students how to increase the impact of their work and raise their academic profiles.

The session, which will include a combination of brief presentations and group work, is scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, in Gumberg Library’s fifth floor Curriculum Center.

Participants will learn how to identify strategies to improve the discoverability of their research; how to publicize their scholarship to relevant stakeholders; how to take part in scholarly conversations using social media; and how to measure the impact of individual publications. A corresponding online guide will also be available.

Presenters at the workshop will be:

  • David Nolfi, health sciences librarian
  • Rob Behary, systems librarian
  • Allison Brungard, research and instruction librarian
  • Kelley Cotter, marketing and electronic communications librarian.

Registration is required because of the limited number of seats. Faculty members unable to attend the session can contact Librarian Assistant Lisa Sciulli at sciullie@duq.edu or 412.396.5346 to schedule an individual consultation.
