Neighborhood Session to Showcase Community Partnerships

The Center for the Catholic Intellectual Tradition and the Center for Community-Engaged Teaching and Research are teaming up to raise student, faculty and staff awareness of the sustainable and collaborative partnerships that enmesh Duquesne University and its neighbors at an upcoming event.

The event Won’t You Be My Neighbor?: Authentic Relationships in Community will feature work happening in Uptown, the University’s neighborhood, from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30.

With a pop-up location at 300 Gist St., the sessions during the event will use a speed-dating format, encouraging attendees to visit three stations addressing different regional issues, including community trauma, water quality, immigration and refugee resettlement. University faculty and staff and their community partners will share the work created through these collaborations.

While a shuttle will leave campus at 11:45 a.m. from the Union circle, attendees are welcome to take the 15-minute walk to the pop-up location.

Attendees are asked to RSVP.
