Mass of the Holy Spirit to Mark the Start of New Academic Year

Duquesne University will celebrate the beginning of a new academic year with faculty, staff, students and friends at the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit this coming weekend.

This year’s Mass will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. in the A.J. Palumbo Center. The Most Rev. David A. Zubik, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, the Very Rev. Jeffrey T. Duaime, C.S.Sp., provincial superior for the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, and fellow Spiritans will concelebrate the Mass.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is one of largest liturgies that Duquesne hosts, drawing nearly 2,000 attendees from the Duquesne and greater Pittsburgh communities each year.

A box lunch will be served on Academic Walk immediately following the Mass. Attendees are asked to RSVP in advance for both the Mass and the lunch by visiting www.duq.edu/mass-holy-spirit.
