Law School Hosting 15th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K & Dog Walk

The School of Law, the Student Bar Association and the Animal Law Society are teaming up again to host the 15th Annual Katie Westbrook 5K & Dog Walk on Saturday, Oct. 1, on campus.

The race is held in memory of Katie Westbrook, a local girl whose dream at age 13 was to become a lawyer. Westbrook, who suffered from a rare bone cancer, passed away at age 15, just before she was to receive an honorary degree from the School of Law.

Proceeds benefit the SBA Centennial Endowed Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to current law students and helps them realize their dreams of becoming attorneys. Last year’s race raised nearly $5,800.

Advance registration is $10 for students, $15 for all other runners and walkers, and $20 on race day. Event check-in will begin at 8 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m.
