Second Annual Integrity of Creation Conference Next Week

The 2016 Presidential Conference on the Integrity of Creation, Protecting Our Common Home: Scientific Contributions & Religious Perspectives, will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28, through Friday, Sept. 30, in the Charles J. Dougherty Ballroom in the Power Center.

There is still time to register for the public portion of the conference on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 28 and 29, which includes several panels—including an all-Spiritan member panel on The Poor and the Earth are Crying Out: Protecting Our Common Home—and three accomplished scholars who will make plenary presentations.

The plenary speakers are:

  • Dr. Ursula Goodenough, The Evolutionary Dimensions of Laudato Si’, Wednesday at 7 p.m.
  • Dr. Daniel P. Scheid, The Moral Vision of Laudato Si’: The Cosmic Common Good as a Common Ground for Interreligious Ecological Ethics, Thursday at 12:45 p.m.
  • Dr. Celia Deane-Drummond, The Theological Anthropology of Laudato Si: Tracing the Interplay of Theology, Science and Ecology, Thursday at 4 p.m.
