Reminder: Human Rights Film Series Concludes Tomorrow

The final film of the 10th annual Human Rights Film Series will be screened tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 23.

Human, directed by French filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand, will be shown at 7 p.m. in Room 105 of College Hall. The film features personal and emotional accounts that challenge the audience to consider what it means to be human.

Eyewitnesses to the Rwandan genocide, Syrian refugees, survivors of Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge, United States Army veterans and others are anonymously interviewed and filmed using a similar close up shot to emphasize that Human is one story told through many voices.

Although the previous screenings in the series featured a guest speaker after the film was shown, audience members attending the screening of Human will be asked to leave in silence and contemplate the film.

The Human Rights Film Series, which this year featured the theme For the Sake of Humanity, is presented by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. For more information, call 412.396.6415.
