Discussion, Book Signing Center on Supporting Muslim Students

An upcoming discussion hosted by the Consortium for Christian-Muslim Dialogue (CCMD) will focus on Muslim students and understanding diverse issues in today’s classrooms.

Free and open to the public, Supporting Muslim Students: A Guide to Understanding the Diverse Issues of Today’s Classrooms will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in the Union’s Africa Room.

The event is based on a new book co-written by Dr. Laura Mahalingappa, assistant professor, and Dr. Nihat Polat, associate dean for graduate students and research, from Duquesne’s School of Education and Dr. Terri Rodriguez, associate professor of education at the College of St. Benedict & St. John’s University.

The discussion will be followed by a book signing with Mahalingappa, Polat and Rodriguez. The event is organized by the CCMD with the Turkish Cultural Center of Pittsburgh and is sponsored by the Department of Theology.
