Gumberg and CTE Offering Publishing Workshop

For scholars, determining where to publish new work can be a challenge. Choosing Wisely: Deciding Where (and Where Not) to Publish is a hands-on workshop designed to make this process less daunting.

Sponsored by Gumberg Library and the Center for Teaching Excellence, Choosing Wisely will help Duquesne scholars identify the best journals for publication. Presenters will share methods for evaluating the reach and reputation of journals as well as recognizing predatory practices.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 20, in the Gumberg Curriculum Center from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Presenters include Dr. Joan Lockhart, clinical professor in the School of Nursing; David Nolfi, research engagement librarian; and Gesina Phillips, digital scholarship librarian.

Registration is available through Gumberg Library’s event calendar, and attendees are asked to bring a potential paper topic and laptop or other device for accessing library resources online.
