The University’s Department of Public Safety and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will continue their partnership with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police to host another session of the Cops and Kids Summer Camp.

The free, weeklong program—open to City of Pittsburgh youth between the ages of 8 and 12—will be held on campus from Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 13. Campers have the opportunity to learn about law enforcement and public safety, experience positive interactions with police officers, and participate in competitive games and team building activities.

In addition, campus and community representatives will address topics ranging from bullying, to crime scene analysis, to volunteering.

“This is an opportunity for us all to help influence the future generations we serve in a positive way,” Jeff Mallory, assistant vice president of diversity, inclusion and student advancement, said. “We are excited to once again collaborate with public safety and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. It reminds us that there are a variety of ways in which we can work together, and that we should never cease to look for such opportunities.”
