The Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Faculty Senate are co-sponsoring the Diversity Speaker Series, which focuses on collaboration among faculty, staff, administration and departments at Duquesne as well as leaders from other academic institutions.

The series kicks off on Monday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. with a faculty and staff reception in the Union Ballroom. Guest speakers will be St. Louis University’s Rev. Christopher Collins, S.J., assistant to the president for mission and identity, and Dr. Jonathan Smith, vice president for diversity and community engagement.

At 5 p.m., Collins and Smith will discuss their experiences with diversity and inclusion at St. Louis University and the lessons they’ve learned from the Clock Tower Accords—a 13-point agreement that ended six days of peaceful campus demonstrations and teachings in October 2014. Jeff Mallory, assistant vice president for diversity, inclusion and student advancement, and William Generett, vice president for community engagement, will moderate the discussion.

RSVP is available online.
