“It’s an honor to be recognized by The Daily Meal for the fourth consecutive year as one of the 75 best colleges for food in America,” Dave Manz, resident district manager for Parkhurst Dining at Duquesne, said. “Our chef-inspired menus and commitment to scratch cooking continue to place Duquesne Dining at the highest levels nationally.”

During the past year, Duquesne Dining created and launched its popular Cinco Cantina Mexican concept, opened a Chick-fil-A Express and debuted a renovated Starbucks store. The continued focus on expanding vegan and vegetarian dining, helping students with special food allergies and purchasing local/seasonal ingredients also helped Duquesne climb in the rankings.

The Daily Meal considered more than 2,000 American colleges and narrowed the list to 75 based on accessibility and service; nutrition and sustainability; education and events; the surrounding area/city; and the ‘wow’ factor.

In describing its most recent list, The Daily Meal wrote: “It’s worth pointing out that schools of all types, all sizes and in all corners of the country comprise the 75 finalists…A greater attention to feedback, advances in technology, an emphasis on healthy options and environmental awareness have all take a front-row seat at campuses across the country.”
